My Story
I discovered Scentsy in Feb 2016.
I had my first child (a boy) in October 2013 and we had a rough start. He was premature and didn’t like breathing a whole lot (not exactly helpful when you need to do it on your own). When finally able to leave hospital, we had an uphill battle as every germ seemed to result in a bout of bronchiolitis and require hospitalisation.
We started using a vaporiser to help his symptoms and then a friend told me about this ‘new’ diffuser she had and how much less moisture it put in the air (not to mention on the walls etc). She lent it to me for a week and the difference it made was amazing (this is just my story and it may not have the same results for everyone). I needed one of these and she mentioned the price to me – dearer than a vaporiser but not cringeworthy. I had a chat with her and she told me how she had just signed up with the Company who sold them, Scentsy. She also let me know if I had a party, I may be eligible for one at half price.
Now, I was the queen of parties…always having a party and didn’t need much encouragement to support her and get my diffuser – I knew nothing else about Scentsy. However, I invited everyone I knew that I thought I could squeeze a sale out of, put the cheese platters out and chilled some drinks.
And that, my friends, is where my love (borderline obsession) of Scentsy began.
I found about waxes and warmers, whiffs and whatnot. I bought up big and couldn’t get enough fragrance in my house (oh, yeah and my kid was WAAAAY better – as I write this in 2019, I can happily say he has never had Bronchiolitis since (again this is MY experience only) but it just wasn’t enough. I wanted in on this stuff! I could see the potential for flameless fragrance and in my hometown of Dubbo I thought it would be a massive hit. So, I signed up and that’s where my business came to a grinding halt.
I thought being such awesome products people would knock down my door for them. I was lazy, lacked confidence and didn’t have a huge amount of upline support which added to my loss of focus and I folded my business in 3 short months.
Fast forward to late 2018, we live on the beautiful Fraser Coast in Hervey Bay, have added another (wild) child to the brood (she is 2) and I get invited to a Scentsy party. All my products had been banished to the shed, Scentsy wasn’t a swear word in my house but it was close. My diffuser had long stopped working and I had struggled to get warranty information from my previous sponsor or her upline.
So, invitation to Scentsy party ACCEPTED!
Here’s my chance to kick and scream, complain and show everyone how crappy this company was.
However, I did not bargain on the most amazing Consultant being there;
Megan Manly took my less than pleasant attitude in her stride. She barely blinked an eyelash at me, she explained the process, said it was easy to do myself or she could do it for me and then without hesitation, threw in that I could always just sign up again as well.
WELL…the hide of that woman!!
Why would you want to sign me up?
I had nothing good to say about my experience with Scentsy.
But that’s when it dawned on me, I could make other peoples experiences totally different to mine. I knew from my first stint what would have helped me start successfully and work my business. So, I called her bluff and re-joined. This lady I thought was downright crazy is now my Director, Sponsor, Mentor, Inspiration and (best of all) friend.
She introduced me to an amazing family, reignited my passion for these scentsational products and fragrances, challenged me to build my business and has supported me every step of the way.
It couldn’t have come at a better time. January 2019 saw my now 5-year-old son commence Prep and with that came a whole new bag of issues. My employer no longer accepted my 4 day per week role and said if I did not return to work fulltime, I would need to resign. So, I did. I was petrified, didn’t know how I would contribute to the family and sucked at being a full time stay at home mum. My son was placed on managed enrolment of 2 hours per day, my husband worked away 11 days per fortnight and I had absolutely no social life.
In not quite 12 months I have achieved Star Consultant, completely changed my outlook on Scentsy, earned my first incentive, attended World Tour and Reunion and embraced all the Scentsy Family has to offer.
THANK YOU SCENTSY!
My Scentsy family kept me sane, they lit up the darkness, sent virtual hugs (they are scattered all around the countryside) and I have never relied on anyone as much as these guys. And not one of them let me falter. Meg continued to challenge me, she asked what I wanted from this and I told her I wanted to be where she was. I wanted her life, but on my terms – Director, SAHM, 2 kids, FIFO hubby and killing it with an awesome business. She didn’t laugh at me, she didn’t tell me it was impossible, she just asked me how I was going to do that.
The entire Little Rays of Sunshine team built me up, helped me become confident, strong and resilient and taught me to do the same for others. They truly are the most tight knit little family who are full of positivity and love for each other and an authentic desire to enrich others lives by sharing the Scentsy brand and opportunity. They are my friends, confidants and rocks.
Outside of my Scentsy family, I have networked, canvassed and built a strong customer base which has also resulted in many new friendships. I have shared the opportunity and been blessed with my own little team of awesome consultants and put my promise into practice – that I would be the best Sponsor I could be and support all of my teamies to succeed, however that looked for them.
